To celebrate the launching of the OPTI-TRANS Journey Planner in Athens, Greece, the OPTI-TRANS project (http://www.optitrans-fp7.eu/) organised its 2nd Workshop in Athens, Greece, on March 23, 2011.Athens is the second major city where OPTI-TRANS was launched after Madrid.The workshop focused on the different aspects of the design, implementation and operation of Journey Planners and business models to sustain their operation.

The Workshop focused on issues of:

-Architecture & Design

-User Aspects, and

-Business Models

related to Journey Planners.

The workshop took place at The National Center for Scientific Research "Demokritos" at:

P. Gregoriou 1 & Neapoleos, 15310 Athens, Tel: +30 210 650 3148

 

The objectives of the workshop were twofold: (a) to disseminate and present to external bodies the results and recommendations of the OPTI-TRANS project; and (b) to present the state of the art on Journey Planners in Europe and around the globe, and discuss with field experts current trends, problems and the way looking forward.

This Workshop was as an opportunity for cross-fertilisation of information, experiences and beneficial synergies in the field of Journey Planners and welcome experts from the academic community, research institutes, standardisation bodies, telecom operators, transport authorities and operations, application providers and companies dealing with relevant technologies, which can interact with the OPTI-TRANS consortium.
